One of the world’s leading MHD (magneto hydrodynamics) centres with unique liquid-metal experimental facilities. The Institute conducts both fundamental and applied research related with complex interactions between electromagnetic fields and liquid flows. These processes are important for the applications ranging from metallurgy and semiconductor crystal growth to medicine and nanotechnologies. The most significant recent achievement of the Institute is the world’s first MHD Dynamo experiment.
