Warrior’s Cemetery of the World War I near Auziņas

In this area, in the September battles of 1917 near the River Mazā Jugla, Latvian Riflemen from the 5th Zemgale regiment led by commander J. Vācietis, heroically resisted the predominant troops of  German Army for more than a day. 135 German soldiers and 153 Latvian Riflemen were buried in separate sections of the cemetery.  Inconvenient accessibility – it is recommended to go there by bicycle or foot.
