In 2021 Salaspils county Tourism Information center received the Hiker-friendly sign. The Hiker-friendly sign is awarded to tourism service providers in the Baltic States. It shows that the place, institution, host, entrepreneur understands and respects the needs of hiking tourists, and that they are welcome and understood here.
The place, institution, host, entrepreneur who has been awarded with this sign “Hiker-friendly” demonstrate in an effective way, that the target audience is welcome, it offers essential and necessary services for hiking such as: appropriate route information materials, guide books or maps, drinking water, first aid kit, possibility to charge electrical appliances. Hikers meet here knowledgeable and helpful people, who want to assist them.
If that is an accommodation it is possible to dry wet and wash dirty clothes, boots and other equipment.
